After spending two weeks aboard Regent Seven Seas Grandeur, I came away genuinely impressed by how comfortable and approachable luxury cruising can feel. The ship was elegant without being stuffy, the service was exceptional, the food ranged from fine dining to burgers by the pool, and the spacious Signature Suite quickly felt like home.
There’s a certain perception people have of luxury cruising.
Some imagine white-glove formality, stuffy dining rooms, and an atmosphere where you feel like you need to whisper instead of laugh. Before sailing on the beautiful Seven Seas Grandeur with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, I wondered if it might feel a little too formal for me.
It didn’t.
What I found instead was something elevated, refined, and incredibly comfortable, without ever feeling pretentious.
From the moment we boarded, the ship felt welcoming. Elegant, yes. Luxurious, absolutely. But also relaxed in a way that allowed you to fully settle in and enjoy yourself without feeling like you had to “perform luxury.”
Dining on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur
One of the things I appreciated most was that Regent manages to offer exceptional dining without making every meal feel overly serious. The food throughout the ship was excellent, and the specialty restaurants were genuinely impressive. The steakhouse quickly became a favorite, and if you sail Regent, do yourself a favor and don’t skip dessert. My roommate Darcy loved the key lime pie, but the caramel popcorn sundae completely won me over.

What I also loved was the balance.
You could absolutely enjoy a beautifully prepared multi-course dinner one evening, then grab pizza or a burger another day by the pool without anyone batting an eye. And trust me, I fully took advantage of that.
And because this was a two week cruise, there were definitely nights when we simply didn’t feel like getting dressed for dinner or heading back out after a long day exploring. On those evenings, room service became one of our favorite luxuries.
And yes, it’s included.
There was something so relaxing about watching a movie in bed, ordering a late night snack, and fully leaning into vacation mode. You could even order buttered popcorn to your suite, which somehow made the whole experience feel even more fun.
That balance carried through the entire experience.
We stayed in an F2 Signature Suite, and it was easily one of the most thoughtfully designed cruise accommodations I’ve experienced. Spacious without wasted space, elegant without feeling overdone.
One of my favorite design choices was that the bed faced the window. There’s just something special about waking up, opening your eyes, and immediately seeing the ocean stretched out in front of you.
The suite itself felt roomy from the moment we walked in. The walk-in closet gave us far more storage than we expected, which made it easy to unpack and truly settle in instead of living out of a suitcase for two weeks.
One luxury I underestimated before sailing Regent was the complimentary laundry service. On a two week cruise, it was amazing. I absolutely took advantage of it multiple times, and there was something oddly satisfying about coming back to the suite to neatly folded clothes instead of a growing pile of laundry silently judging me from the corner.
And then there was the bathroom.
I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to be that spacious.
The double vanity sink gave us plenty of room to spread out, there was abundant counter space and storage, and the separate deep soaking tub was such a pleasant surprise. On a cruise ship, bathrooms can sometimes feel like an afterthought. This one absolutely did not.
The Spa and Onboard Activities
Of course, because I take my responsibility to thoroughly “research” cruise experiences very seriously for my clients, I also felt obligated to test out the spa.
It would have been unprofessional not to.
So naturally, I sacrificed my time for the greater good with a massage and a few hair treatments while onboard. I’m happy to report that the spa experience was every bit as relaxing as you’d hope it would be.

Research is important.
Another thing that stood out to me was the atmosphere onboard, especially among the guests.
Luxury travel sometimes gets unfairly associated with people trying too hard to impress one another, but that wasn’t the experience here at all. The guests onboard were friendly, approachable, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. Some of my favorite memories from the cruise came from simple afternoons by the pool, talking and laughing with people we had only just met.
It never felt ostentatious. It simply felt comfortable.
And while Regent Seven Seas Grandeur certainly offers plenty of elegant spaces throughout the ship, one of my favorite places ended up being the card room. It was fully stocked with games, and several times I found myself there with Darcy in the evenings – deep into a competitive game of Sequence.
Those little moments became some of my favorites.
The Mediterranean and Greek Isles Itinerary
Of course, the itinerary itself was incredible too. Sailing through the Mediterranean, exploring the Greek Isles, visiting Egypt, and ending in Istanbul made this journey unforgettable. But what surprised me most was how much I enjoyed simply being onboard the ship itself.
That’s when you know a cruise experience is special.
When the destinations are extraordinary, but you still look forward to returning “home” to the ship at the end of the day.
Would I Sail Regent Seven Seas Grandeur Again?
Without hesitation.
